"Talent"

I was going through some of my old notebooks, and found one from elementary school. I think it must have been 4th grade. Here is one of the entries:

Sept 16 "Talent"

I would like a good singing voice.
I would like that because I love songs (they tickle my fancy).
Mostly I like women singers, but men ar Okay too. One of my favorite stations is Oldies 97.3 KBSG. Exept I don't wan't to be famous. I would write songs that might help the world.

Gee, my spelling wasn't half bad back then! Oh wait, look at this one I did for a school assignment:

I like classical. I like it because it sooths me and it's really beautyful. Esspesially I like Fur Elise by Bethoven & the Nutcracker Suite by Taicowski (how do you spell that?). Rap and loud music Suck! Oldies and the Beatles are okay.

Ok, so I had on and off days.

You were always a great talent I'm sure - as you are now. I mean, MY WORD, the meatloaf!

I have read that you are a Mormon and that you say that they are Christians. I wonder about this. Are you sure you have the real Jesus? If you do not have the real Jesus then eternal punishment awaits, and this is true for me also. This is why I am concerned about who the real Jesus is. Who do you think He is?

Shelby, calling it "eternal punishment" seems so harsh, but there is a lot to gain from coming to Christ.

If you are interested in learning about the Christ that Mormons worship, you should check out the book A Different Jesus? The Christ of the Latter Day Saints. (I mean, assuming you don't want to go the direct route and read the Book of Mormon or talk to the missionaries.)

The foreword and afterwords are by someone you may know, evangelical Christian leader Richard Mouw, president of the Fuller Theological Seminary. The book is not about how the Mormon Christ is the true Christ, but honestly talks about the differences of belief between Mormons and other sects.
