Everyone Poops

We have a little friend who has taken up residence on our front porch. Look at this picture of our porch light and tell me if you see anything:

Don't see it? Look a little closer, up on top of the light:

That's right! A frog! He has been there for a couple of months now, gorging himself on the bugs that are drawn to the light. Smart froggy. But wait, what's that stuff down on the ground underneath the light? Could it be...

Why, yes! A lovely fresh supply of frog crap! Did you know frog excrement was so large? No, neither did I. He is obviously a very well-fed little bugger. But if he doesn't learn how to clean up after himself, I might just have me some frog legs for dinner.

I think "bugger" is very punny.

I bet it's warmer up by the light, for him. You might help him survive the winter happily by letting him stay there... But a wise monk might tell you: "Move like frog. Or move frog."

that is certainly a lot of poop for someone so small. too bad there isn't some little animal around who lives off of frog poop. You'd have a perfect little eco-system right on your porch.

Thank you so much for visiting me at chez cabbage and commenting. After reading a bit of your blog, I've come to the realization that you are quite a funny lady. Hope you don't mind, I've blogrolled you.

Don't fight nature, let it work for you! Place a nice little plant underneath your new family member; the perfect symbiotic relationship. My first pet was a frog named Freaka. Did you know that?

Ah ha! So it IS frog poop. I have it all around my patio and garage and pool. Used to be just one turd a night, but since we've had extraordinary rains this summer, our frog and toad population has exploded. Every night when I let the dogs out for the last time my boy dog, Tanner, chases about 5-6 frogs into our pool -- PLOP! But they can jump out - amazingly, once we go away. I'm so glad to have confirmation. Come to my blog and see our frog eggs!
